How Upstream compares
Upstream compared: Birdeye, Yext and six more
We looked at twenty companies that sell some version of listing management. These are the eight a medical practice is most likely to consider. Every fact comes from the company's own website, help center or terms, checked on September 29, 2026.
01 / Three ways in
How listing companies get your details onto the internet
Platforms you subscribe to. Yext, Birdeye, Semrush, Reputation and Press Ganey send your details out through their own connections to the listing sites, on a yearly or monthly plan.
Done-for-you services. BrightLocal and Whitespark build and clean up your listings for a one-time fee.
Practice software. Tebra includes listings as one part of its practice management subscription.
Upstream. An agent you run in your own Claude or ChatGPT, working with ours. We start at the records the other sites copy from, you make every change on your own accounts, and a person on our team checks each one.

03 / Questions
FAQ
Why does fixing the registries matter?
Many medical directories copy their facts from the federal provider registry and from Google. If the registry still has an old address, the old address keeps coming back, even after a directory is corrected by hand.
Do I need to cancel Birdeye or Yext to use Upstream?
No. Upstream works on your own accounts, so it can sit alongside a platform. You can use Upstream to fix the sources and keep a platform for reviews.
Where do these facts come from?
Each company's own website, help center, pricing page or terms, checked on September 29, 2026. Send us a correction and we'll check it and update the page.
